The Girl Scout parent meeting is over!
Only 3 of the 11 moms made it - we weren't able to reach 3 of them at all (no answering machine), we'd left messages for the others, and one just couldn't make it because of car issues, but she's assured us that her daughter really really wants to be a Girl Scout. So that's four definites plus Elayna - and we have a troop! Still need a meeting place, though.
And the meeting went really well. Our Service Unit Director did most of the talking, but we had a good rapport with the other moms (one of whom has 7 kids! so I know she could give a shit about my dust bunnies). And they all have e-mail, so no more phone calls. :)
And now I have to go make Miss Kid turkey rollups, and soon it will be Movie Night. :)

I know. I was stunned, too.

Only thing is, no electronic hookups in the rooms. Phone is a pay phone in the hall, only TV is in a common area. The theory is to get the folks to socialize...
But if you can tolerate being e-isolated with your fellow conferees, it is a facility highly to be recommended.

Nice people. Very eclectic.
