It's sleeting out there.

Has been off and on, since late yesterday.

The ground is covered in what looks like snow but is actually thick ice.

I live in Atlanta why, again?

EDIT: Still sleeting. Parts of the interstate are closed. Sheet of ice on our driveway. Not going anywhere. Official ice storm.

Y'know, I wasn't entirely surprised to be snowed in in Boston. But Atlanta?

I think winter decided to come south this year.. brrr.

Do you have water supply throughout the house? If so, you are better off than here :)
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 06:30 am (UTC)
Beats the hell out of 3 feet of snow.....
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 07:26 am (UTC)
Dude, when can we see you guys?
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 07:55 am (UTC)
Some places have neither. :P
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:39 am (UTC)
From my experience, I'd have to come down on the side of snow-only -- black ice really sucks.
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 06:39 am (UTC)
Seriously, don't ask me.
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 07:26 am (UTC)
:)
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 06:50 am (UTC)

Saturday, January 29th, 2005 07:07 am (UTC)
Yeah, that thing. *grumble*
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 07:54 am (UTC)
I live in Atlanta why, again?

I've been wondering that meself....
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:01 am (UTC)
Because it's warmer than most of the nation, and it's not as touristy as Florida. :)
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:03 am (UTC)
I'm tellin' ya, ain't no city better'n Austin, TX!
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:40 am (UTC)
When I move back up North (Boston?), I'll let you know. *grin*
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:41 am (UTC)

Hey, it's 34F outside right now in Boston, and we're getting some melting and thawing. It's also sunny. Sounds like we currently have better weather than you do, despite the huge snow piles everywhere.
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 10:09 am (UTC)
:p You've lived in Atlanta long enough to know that ice storms are a semi-regular thing there...
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 10:10 am (UTC)
Not really, no! :P

*is a cold little 'song*
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 02:18 pm (UTC)
I thought you'd been there for at lesat 5 years?

Okay, well then I'll tell you. ^_~ Generally y' get at a small ice storm at least once a year, and at least one bad one every 2-4 years. Also, temps WILL get down to the teens on occasion.
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 02:19 pm (UTC)
Uh-uh. 3 years. This is my first ice storm. :P
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 02:25 pm (UTC)
... seriously?

Ok, sorry for looking at you like a dork then. I thought you'd been here a fair bit longer, and couldn't figure out why anybody'd be all "WTH?" when they ought to know better...

*cough*

Oh, and cookie order making its way to your inbox.
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 02:33 pm (UTC)
Hee! *hug* No big.

Yeah, I seriously was like "WTF? Sleet? Ice?" because I've experienced heavy frost here, but not sheets of ice....

And thanks for the order! Yay! Gonna pick it up in person? *hopeful look*

If you don't mind it being in your house till April...
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 02:46 pm (UTC)
Not a bit!
Saturday, January 29th, 2005 08:26 pm (UTC)
Ah but it'll all melt tomorrow. One day of winter's a fair price to pay for good weather the rest of the year. I have totally loved these past couple of weeks, hearing my coworkers up north complaining about multiple feet of snow and single digit temperatures. Muahaha! But what could be better? Living in Texas, the home of GWB and endless icky subdivisions and eternal drought? Nah. California? If you can afford the cost of living and don't mind the certain knowledge that someday soon there WILL be a giant earthquake, sure... Florida? For old people. No, Atlanta is the best of all possible big cities.

Dude. [livejournal.com profile] yendi, remember? Cute guy, kinda geeky, married to you? Lives in Atlanta? Him? Maybe?
Sunday, January 30th, 2005 08:41 am (UTC)
Oh yeah...
