* The troop leader decided yesterday that the girls would be having a meeting today, so we dropped Elayna off and

* Went to Crescent Moon for breakfast! Elayna doesn't like to go out to breakfast, as she's a bit of a homebody in the morning, so this was a nice treat. We went to the one at the mall, and shopped a bit afterwards, getting

* New everyday-type shoes - Timberland oxfords - for $20 (70% off), Star Trek: TNG Season 1 for $40 (66% off), and other excellent deals!

About Girl Scouts... Elayna's friend who just joined the other troop will be coming over Monday to practice a skit for Drama Club. I plan to reinforce what fun it would be to be in that friend's troop. Because I am just so over this.

The sugestion was made that I see if we can take the cookie money over to a new troop - I don't know if it's possible, and honestly, I don't want to start a war; it's not worth it. I have even less energy for that than I do for running a table at Thinking Day, y'know? But yeah. She's switching.

And when she gets back from her meeting, she's cleaning her room, and we're working on weeding out the clothes that no longer fit her post-massive-growthspurt, so I don't have to have another "No, that is too small, and I'm not sending you out looking like that" *ahem* discussion like this morning's. We are not morning people, my 'Layni and I. There are enough things to fuddle up our mornings without Clothing Wars.

you know you're right...didn't think about the war aspects of moving the cookie money, but it does sound like all the extras it gets for her troop don't really benefit her, which is sad.

just curious: are you donating the clothes that don't fit to charity? If not, well, I know that My Sisters House(battered women's shelter)/Atlanta Union Mission always needs stuff in good condition. And if you didn't have a way to get it there, I could always drop it off.

I was just there today, and I had gotten a trunk full of toys from ToysRUs 90% off sale for about $10. I donated 2 big bags of new stuffed animals and got a tax write off of $85. They do appreciate this kind of stuff, and I know it will be of use. I grew up with so little, that I give back what I can now...
