Happy early birthday to [livejournal.com profile] maltor!

Hello to new readers [livejournal.com profile] dalbino83, [livejournal.com profile] missakins, and [livejournal.com profile] sarazane13, and returning reader [livejournal.com profile] songwind!

Medical
More bitchslap of exhaustion (I went to bed at 8:30 last night), concentration floopy, coordination problem, nausea.

Musical
Dude, [livejournal.com profile] cyber_pagan, pick two of those eight songs to use on my birthday mix, because I'm not letting you use all eight and dominate the thing. :P

Otherwise, everything is downloaded, and I can stick it all on my iPod and post a tracklisting later this afternoon, probably...

Glenn School Sale
I was far too spoonless to hit the pre-sale, so Adam - [livejournal.com profile] yendi - hit it, and did an excellent job, getting Elayna some wonderful dresses and a few cool toys. And one for us - Scene It. Game Night at our house!

Adam
Adam doesn't mind a bit that I refer to him here as Adam; his only concern is that new readers may not know that he has an LJ. He does. He is [livejournal.com profile] yendi. He is way cooler and funnier than me, and you should read him. :)

Wearing
Grey twinset, jeans, Supergirl socks, Supergirl panties.

Reading
Just finished Gridlinked, by Neal Asher, and enjoyed it so much that I went downstairs and wishlisted all his other stuff. Currently reading Bite, a silly vampire compilation with stuff by Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris, because it was the lightest thing on my to-read shelf and I just needed something to read with breakfast! Next up will be the screenplay of Nightspeeder, by Emma Bull and Will Shetterly.

Planning
Cleaning. Cleaning. Cleaning.
Cookie pickup.
Party!
Sleep.

You?

I thought "Gridlinked" was great! His other books that I've been able to find are pretty good. "The Line of Polity" is set not long after Gridlinked. "Skinner" is set in the same universe but not really with any overlapping characters.

(And oh, a slim chance I'll be in Boston when you are. If I am, I'll take orders for Australian goodies for your party...)
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:47 am (UTC)
Oh, please do try to be in Boston! That would be great. :) I don't know what kind of goodies Australia has, though.....
Friday, March 4th, 2005 06:00 am (UTC)
they have these chocolate cookie things that are SO GOOD. I think they start with an N.... or something. So good. And they have cadbury's.
Sunday, March 6th, 2005 05:58 pm (UTC)
The way my travel plans work, I rarely have everything confirmed very far in advance. But yes, one idea has me in Boston for the last week of April.

For goodies... what do you like as treats? What are your dietary restrictions? My usual bag of treats involves chocolate cookies of various types, but I can also do Australian Nutella (not the same as American Nutella, because we use cane sugar rather than corn syrup; this is generally the case for anywhere American food uses corn syrup), etc.

If you're familiar with British treats, anything they have we probably do, too, in case there are specific (say) Cadbury's lines you know you like. Violet Crumbles (honeycomb in milk choc, not Cadbury's), etc etc etc?
Monday, March 7th, 2005 05:12 am (UTC)
Honeycomb in chocolate? *perk* Oh, yes, please. I had honeycomb in dark chocolate, and it was the best ever. (In general, I prefer dark to milk, as milk chocolate just tastes a bit waxy by comparison.)

No Nutella, as nuts = nasty, but thank you!

Supergirl never wore panties!.....She went commando (or commandess if your not pc)
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:45 am (UTC)
She did so wear panties! Supergirl wasn't a ho. :P
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:47 am (UTC)
Commando doesn't connotate ho......just easier access-ho-bility
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:42 am (UTC)
cookie pick up?

does that mean it's time to pay and what not for my girl scout cookies?
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:44 am (UTC)
Yep! I'll work all that out on Sunday, I s'pose....
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:43 am (UTC)
Very much appreciated, but my birthday's not until September?? Asher, hrm?
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:45 am (UTC)
Ach! Maltor, not Malver. Sorry. Mm. Happy VERY early birthday.
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:49 am (UTC)
And to you (very early for next y.. joking. Does Party refer to this weekend?)

As I said, appreciated; and thanks for clearing that up :)
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:51 am (UTC)

[livejournal.com profile] yendi != cooler and funnier. As cool and as funny, yes.

He's also on my list of people it would be very neat to meet in person someday...

You're not anymore, because I met you. :D

I'd like to bring him & Elayna up to Arisia next year...
Friday, March 4th, 2005 05:56 am (UTC)
'He is yendi.'

Somehow I hear this as being declaimed dramatically, as in a '70s Saturday-morning cartoon:

'He is...Yendi.'

Or, 'This is my domain, and I protect those who come here. For I am Yendi, succulent breast of good recommendations.' :)

[livejournal.com profile] dalbino83 is the bomb-diggity. I've known her since I was a wee undergrad. It is good that she is coming 'round to the Cult of Shadesong. :)

She is very awesome. I could have sworn that she'd friended 'Song ages ago. *frown* *checks Joule* Yep, she is not a new reader. She is a returning one. muahahaha!
Friday, March 4th, 2005 06:11 am (UTC)
Huh! She must've been here verra briefly.
Friday, March 4th, 2005 06:14 am (UTC)
activate your "long term" Joule thingy, then ctl+f (on firefox anyway...) and search for her name. She was the one who gave me crashspace the friday of Arisia.

Friday, March 4th, 2005 06:11 am (UTC)

Your current reading so closely mirrors mine that it's scary.
