She uncurled, blinking sleepily. Yawning, she stretched, and then stared in amazement at the huge white paws before her. She stretched one out, digging claws into the thick forest loam, feeling the leaves shatter like glass beneath her paw.
She bounced up, twirling in a circle, chasing the black tip of her tail. Springing into the air in delight, she stared around her at the forest, startled to see colors. Some of the others had told her she'd see in black and white when in animal form. Her purr startled her, as she felt the joy overcoming her.
She felt her heart unfolding as this new world opened before her, and she leaped down the path before her, slipping through the forest like a cool breeze. The forest was hers, now, and she was determined to explore it.
