Explanation of last bit: When Jessa and Fenris broke up, it was just too painful for Jessa to be around him. So she and Marcus left the city for a while.

But, obviously, it was also too painful for her to stay away from the city...

The city has that pull for all Dasaroi. I've stated that it has the pull for some more than others. For the stronger more than for the weaker, absolutely. But also, of course, the pull is stronger for very strong Dasaroi who were born and raised there, which Jessa was. She can't adjust to going from this city of magic and the history of her people to, say, Florida. (Random pick of state I hate.) Could you?

She's lived in this one magical place always, with a break of a few years at the Sanctuary, equally magical. :) Not much of a traveller! Ordinary places are foreign to her.
