Surprise, surprise...
Saw my parents off last night and received a phone call from docorion.

Telling me he was in Atlanta.

Me: "Oh. Oh. Come here. I know I was supposed to meet you at the door in a skirt, and I'm not all sexed up, and you're all mussed from travel, but nothing ever happens the way we plan it anyway, and I can't be here and know you're here and not see you - I need to snuggle you. I need to see you..."

So half a day off schedule, all sceneing plans thrown to the wind, he showed up at my door...

It's a measure of my exhaustion that I actually slept last night.

This is good.

Random Shayara Thing
For Shayara fans - someonecatchme, my #1 fangirl, had too much time on her hands. She made icons based on the Houses as represented in the chapbook on the website. They're here if you want them. They are nifty. Thank you, honey. :) EDIT: Oh, apparently the last one is animated! Cooooool. :) EDIT: Imma use it now.

I should have a Shayara icon contest, except that it would be impossible for me to judge, because I am giggly-flattered whenever anybody makes a Shayara icon.

*nod* I feel sorry for our professors sometimes, as their evaluations are impacted by the fact that nearly all students hate math.

Similarly, most patients kinda hate being in the emergency room, and will thusly be biased against our dear docorion...

Since I do not remember (or may not have known in the first place, since I don't fanatically read every little Shayara bit you post), which bird is that in the Lhri'Nahr icon? I mean, the wolf, the fox, the spider, the snake, and the bear are obvious. The Tamra is some type of cat - its individual type is also not clear, and I don't recall.

I thought so. That explains why I was drawn to it. I'm only drawn to hawks and ravens, usually. Or at least, that strongly. I love birds, in general, given that my Family is avian, and flight itself resonates with me, but hawks and ravnes... Mother and Uncle. None of the other avian Family members have ever spoken with me, but Mother and Uncle Raven. *shrug* Mind if I steal that icon? ^_^

And how do you pronounce the first syllable of that? I mean, I hear it in my head, but I wanna make sure it's right.

Mmhmm. That's what I thought. The 'ah' in nahri is pronounced like the 'aw' in hawk, is it not? Not the nasal 'a' in father? And then the 'i' at the end would be another ee sound.

Anything odd about syllable accenting, Shau'ri, or is it on the 'nah', as it sounds in my head?

Hey, I keep meaning to tell you this...

I really want to read your Shayara story in Shooting Star. My problem is there are no damned comics stores around here. And I can't order it online because I don't have a credit card. I'm going to have to see if I can get Barnes & Noble to order it for me or something. Wanna see it!
