Administration
Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] godlyperspectiv!

Medical
"Zim, you have head pigeons. Go to the doctor's office."

Twentieth verse, same as the first. I am at home today, taking it easy, FYI. I called the doctor re: the eye pain... the nurse took down the info, said she'd talk to the doctor and call me this morning.

Eye pain may = instant abort on this drug, is why the concern. The drug can cause glaucoma. I'm already borderline for glaucoma - my optic nerves are all funny-shaped, and they're not sure why. I have to get periodic Humphries Visual Field tests just to make sure I don't have glaucoma yet. *rueful laugh* My body is weird.

Wearing
Las Vegas shirt. Jeans.

Reading
Anne Lamott's Bird by Bird, on loan from [livejournal.com profile] karlita.

Planning
Dad's going to be in town this afternoon - late lunch with him! Otherwise, lazing about.

I have too little time to spend with [livejournal.com profile] docorion...

I hope it's not the glaucoma-indicative pain from the eyes. I can't tell if this medication is better than previous medications, but constantly changing (or even periodically) meds around must be so aggravating.

Is lazing about done with the Doc around? For how long will your dad be in town today? Have any good/fun/indecent plans for the weekend?

Wearing: black granny boots, blue pants, black tank top, brown sweater, funky brown earrings.
Reading: Wicked, by Gregory Maguire (very good, and I haven't read the other Oz books.)
Planning: weekend at Meg's, helping her clean and cook for Easter (though she's probably done most of it); playing with and watching Tori, a sunny delicious precocious 3-yr-old.

Re: meds.... I'm just tired.

Lzing about = with Doc, yes. :)

Dad, just today. He's in town for work, one day only, and has time for "his girls" and Adam and, sure, for [livejournal.com profile] docorion too...

I was going to do a JavaMonkey thing this weekend, but I'm now not relying on the body. Just winging it. Going to be staying at a nifty bed and breakfast that [livejournal.com profile] karlita and [livejournal.com profile] photognome recommended, though. :)

I love B&Bs. My friend and then-coworker Beth told me that she goes to professional conventions and stays in B&Bs instead of the main hotel because there's most often cheaper and nicer, and in Ottowa and Philly it was totally worthwhile. I'm hooked on the idea, even if I don't get out that often. Have a good time!

I hear you on the glaucoma worry. It was thought that I was in the first stages of it a while back (I think I blogged about it) and it turned out that my corneas are extra thick which will serve me well in my old age and my retinas are cupped but that is normal for my eye structure so not a problem yet. I just have to get my eyes checked very carefully every 3 years or so.

Mine are.... oval, they said. I get them checked every year.

isters in oddity!

I'm curious...how do you know so many birthdays? Is there a program that pulls them for you?

Yep! http://www.livejournal.com/portal. :)

Doh! Now I feel silly. Thanks for sharing (and I hope you feel better)!

BTW - I'm not sure if I ever told you ... Thank you for writing about your medical problems. My gf is on chemo and it is hard for me to watch her hurt. While I realize that you do not have the same stuff going on, it still helps me to know that other people are dealing with things and can make it through.

Jeez... my problems = very small, compared to that...

But that you; that's not the first time I've been thanked for talking about this stuff - so that's part of why they do it. I hate what I call Model Patient Syndrome. This is not easy stuff. And I think that ought to be acknowledged.

Hope you and your girlfriend are doing well...

It really isn't easy stuff - what either of you are going through. I admire your strength and courage. Thanks again :)

Yay! Thanks! You like?

What odd boobs. *scrutinizes icon* Then I realize the whole image is plasticy, which explains one oddness, but still. *amused grin*

It's the Barbie-ness of it all.

Ah, Bird by Bird. Classic book, and excellent if ever you're in a writerly rut. Saved my life (well, metaphorically saved my life, but still) in about 8th grade, that book did.
