Happy birthday to the incandescent
shellefly!
Medical
The usual. Tongue feeling extra thick today. I think that the tingling in extremities has got to be a circulatory thing; it's worse when I sit on my legs then get up. Which sucks because I sit on my legs a lot. Only way to comfortably reach the table when eating.
Wherein the child is much like the mother
Elayna: Look, Mommy, a motorcycle!
Me, sighing: Yeah.
Elayna: Wouldn't it be cool if that was actually [
docorion]'s motorcycle? If he hadn't actually left, and came back to surprise us?
Adam: He'll be back, you guys...

I guess it just looks puny compared to "comments received".

I'm on Topamax, too. And I get the very same constant tingling in my hands and feet, ESPECIALLY when I sit with my legs curled under me, like I'm sitting right now (dammit). It drives me absolutely batty, but my neurologist has assured me that the tingling is a very common Topamax side effect and it will eventually subside. If it doesn't drive you completely fucking insane by then. It does feel like a circulatory problem, but rest assured it's just the Topamax. Anytime I sit any way other than with my feet flat on the ground, which I rarely do, my feet feel like they're on pins and needles. I've been on Topamax for about two months now and I still have tingling in my hands and feet. I've found that running my fingers under warm water and sometimes sticking my feet in really warm water helps the tingling. So don't worry, you won't start losing fingers and toes like a leper anytime soon. Though that would be kinda cool, in a rotton.com kind of way...

Yeah, I know it's the Topamax.... it's kinda cool/disconcerting when it's just my fingers, but now it's my legs almost all the time, which sucks because I walk a lot.
I'm decreasing my dose - just went from 3 pills AM 3 PM to 2 AM & 2 PM - because my eye pressure went up 3 points in one eye, 2 in the other. So. I have a message in the the neuro. The tingly alone = just annoying, but the eye pressure = mega uncool.
Weird Al's latest album has a song called "Party at the Leper Colony". It's the one song Elayna doesn't like. She feels sorry for the poor lepers.

you should both join
drinking a ton of water (2-4 liters/day) reduces the numbness for me. seriously.
I'm also starting yoga and pilates to help with balance stuff. :)
