Medical
Exhaustion + nausea... vision bad. Which extra-sucks, as I was trying to read [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar's book in the car! Coordination also off. Whee.

Yesterday
I am glad to see that many of you agree with me re: Garden State. *nod* And the hair thing. Glad I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill on that... honestly, I never really know. I lack cultural touchstones; I lack the ability to gauge.

Some interesting stuff came out of the schtupping post. That should be discussed.

Shayara
Wow. A lot of you want Shooting Star #6. I will e-mail my editor and see how many copies he can get me - if we can't meet demand, it'll have to be first-come, first-served. I hope we can meet demand, though. I like sharing this stuff with you. Hell, I want to just post it all online as say "Look! Look! See what we did? Is it not nifty!" But, y'know, professional work, gotta pay.

I'm still kinda bemused by the fact that Shayara can actually get out to people, that people will pay to read the little world in my head. Growing up, you kinda think that's for other people. But I can actually do this.

Wearing
Black T-shirt, Beaker panties, jeans, skeleton socks, Docs.

Reading
Even the Wingless, by [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar. Yay. :) I have the luck to have some amazingly talented friends. :) You'll be glad to know that [livejournal.com profile] theferrett's skill with nonfiction extends to fiction, and [livejournal.com profile] bitsyboo's Burning Florence also rocked my world. Not to mention [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna's fever-dreams of books. Yay. :)

Planning
Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] vanuslux; [livejournal.com profile] lupaloo's birthday party tomorrow.

You?

Beaker as in Bunsen Honeydew's assistant?
Friday, June 10th, 2005 05:37 am (UTC)
Yep! The panties say "BEAKER" on the front, and have Beaker's alarmed face on the butt.

I like the Muppets. Rather a lot. :)
Friday, June 10th, 2005 05:58 am (UTC)
Oh. How. Fabulous.

You rock!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:01 am (UTC)
*grin* Dude, you should see the Muppet action figure collection! I have the Swedish Chef's Kitchen and Swine Trek playsets...
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:29 am (UTC)
I got both of those when I worked at Suncoast!

Oh yes, and this post reminds me of this shirt

I thought so. Were my photoshop skills not weak I was going to try to make an icon out of it. :-)
Friday, June 10th, 2005 09:29 am (UTC)

All you had to do was ask. :P
Friday, June 10th, 2005 09:40 am (UTC)
See, and THAT is why you rock
Friday, June 10th, 2005 10:14 am (UTC)
Umm.... duh. :P
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:07 am (UTC)
I think that is the coolest underwear of which I've ever heard ;)
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:09 am (UTC)
I shall have to get my picture taken in it!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:42 am (UTC)
Amen
Friday, June 10th, 2005 05:53 am (UTC)
Re-stating my desire for the Shayara preview, happy to pay comic+packaging+shipping, whatever that amount is.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 05:55 am (UTC)
*hug* Loud and clear, hon. :) Thank you!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:10 am (UTC)
On a completely unrelated note, do you and [livejournal.com profile] yendi read Order of the Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript)? If not you should, it is hysterical. Today's strip made me think of Minion Day...
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:52 am (UTC)
Cute! :)

Going to Toledo tonight to see my Pete. You've probably at best skimmed your friends page and may have missed the news - someone I've been friends with for four years but left my life for a time is back. We're dating; we're both crazy happy; we hate that we live so far apart (about 8 hours driving) but are so far willing to make the effort to see each other. This weekend I get on a plane (big time EEK)!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 06:57 am (UTC)
Wow! Yay you!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:04 am (UTC)
very full saturday planned unfortunatley - but lots of horsey fun time! Shopping, and horse races too!

Sunday I plan to clean our apartment -- if I have the energy. It might end up being a day to go around and pick up spoons considering the week I've had.. I can't wait to go to the doctor on monday and tell her my temperature has barely been above 95* ALL WEEK. Fun! *shiver*

Why can I picture you doing a really silly dance (perhaps a 'song boogie?) when you wear the beaker panties? heh, no idea where THAT comes from.

Wow. A lot of you want Shooting Star #6.
When I bought it, I bought five copies, since shipping seemed to overwhelm the actual price. So if four of your Boston-area homeys want it, they can get it from me (especially if they're people who show up at the Diesel on Tuesdays). Have ’em email me ([livejournal.com profile] beowabbit@livejournal.com works).
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:30 am (UTC)
Excellent! Thank you, sweetie. :)
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:45 am (UTC)
When you email him, might mention that someone preordered, the shop claims to have ordered, and it didn't arrive. >_<

Not that I think s/he can do anything about it, just so that they're aware.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:53 am (UTC)
Yep. Sadly, you're not the only one that happened to. Grr!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 07:56 am (UTC)
I'm sayin'.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 08:38 am (UTC)
Wearing: "God is a Girl and She's Cute" t-shirt,wacky little turquoise skirt with frilly things at the bottom, probably eventually matching knee socks, but barefoot at the moment.
Reading: "Bearing an Hourglass" (Piers Anthony), "Perfectly Reasonable Deviations From The Beaten Path" (Richard Feynman). Now that classes are over I /might/ just have time to read.
Planning: dropping the boy at daycare for the day, probably selling my books back today or tomorrow, and visiting the post-office. Exciting, nu?
Friday, June 10th, 2005 09:33 am (UTC)
Medical: I am not walking well today. Knees are very much broken. Also have been having brain problems the past couple days where I am having a very hard time finding words. Also: Exhaustion.

Shayara: Want.

Comics in general: The comics [livejournal.com profile] yendi sent me got here yesterday!!!!!!!! I bounced and almost fell off the stairs. Ouch.

Wearing: red tank, plaid pants, black skivvies that say "razzle dazzle 'em" on the butt in glitter paint

Reading: Right now, Neverwhere by Gaiman. Heading to the Library before I leave to see if my interlibrary de Lint came in. I just asked for whatever they could get me so I do not knowyet what it is.

planning: BOSTON!!!!! ^_^ Whee!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 10:27 am (UTC)
Remember I have a v. limited number of "spares", already paid for. They are at your command should you need them.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 11:00 am (UTC)
Right now, wearing a "Just because I'm up doesn't mean I'm awake" t-shirt under my nightgown that has come undone along the side seams to make the nightgown decent. And panties.

About to start reading The Hallowed Hunt; it's evidently not as good as Paladin of Souls, but it's still good (so I hear).

Plans: shower, fetch clean laundry from the laundry room, eat, go to work.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 01:06 pm (UTC)
I just finished Hallowed Hunt and I would say it's at about the same level of goodness as CoC. I don't expect any books to be as good as Paladin. I really, really liked that one...
Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 11:05 pm (UTC)
I just bought it, and also Paladin in paperback; I just finished up the re-read of Paladin preparatory to starting in on the new fare.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 12:17 pm (UTC)
I have a second copy of Shooting Star #6. I bought it, just in case. But it is better than someone else have 1 copy than that I have two. So, if you know of someone that needs a copy, especially if they're local, I can provide my extra.
Friday, June 10th, 2005 01:00 pm (UTC)
As it's a graphic novel, using the padded envelopes, it should only cost $1.42 to mail Media Mail (which mostly doesn't really take as long as some people think) and if you want to be *really* spendy, $0.55 for delivery confirmation.

'Course if you want to mail it differently, it's up to you. For me, the only packages the USPS have lost (going Media/Economy Mail) are the ones going internationally...and that's not entirely the fault of the mail service. :)
Monday, June 13th, 2005 06:26 am (UTC)
So much money!
Friday, June 10th, 2005 02:14 pm (UTC)
Hooray! *boing*
Saturday, June 11th, 2005 02:25 am (UTC)
argh.

If there's an extra copy running around when all's said and done, I would love to get my hands on a copy. I meant to order one when it was time, and got sidetracked with finals and other things that catch a life, and I really wanted to read your stuff.

Lemme know if it's possible. :)
