When you have a dirty thought from a perfectly non-dirty comment (intended double entendres don't count), then you hold out your hand to be smacked. It has the lovely effect of letting everybody know you came up with something naughty, and then they have to figure it out for themselves. Sometimes you end up having to ask, but not usually. :)

Plus it gets me smacked, which you know, is always good. ;)
