Regarding the misleadingly-titled TV.com article...

The article says that SciFi is rerunning the existing episodes of Firefly.

The article does not anywhere say that any new episodes of Firefly have been commissioned. Because, sadly, they have not. :(

(Five beloved readers misreading the article as "Firefly is coming back!" is my threshold for correction post, so if you think this is triggered by you, rest assured that it ain't just you...)

Yeah - the whole article seems misleading. I got the whole last paragraph reference that it was running the 15 episodes with the three unaired ones, however, "picked up" usually seems to mean "running new episodes." It wasn't until I got to the Slashdot conversation that I realized that wasn't what it meant.

There was a poll a while back on the official Firefly site asking fans if they would pay for producing new episodes directly for dvd....don't know if it's still up if you want to contribute.
