How am I supposed to make it through work today and tomorrow and next week and the month after that when I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, when it is right. over. there. and it is so so close but for the need of a Boston-local job for Adam?

Anyone got any Boston academic IT connections for Adam? *fidgets mightily*

I don't remember if I passed along this link previously. At the moment the only open reqs we have are a sysadmin and a DBA, but the main campus might have others...and more stuff might open up here too.

Another option: Zipcar isn't academic but are cool folks anyway, and according to this post are looking for a sysadmin.

I remember passing this on before, but it doesn't hurt to do it again, does it?

Am loving it. This is like an '80s punk urban fantasy movie in my head. Yay! Many thanks to you!

I'm so glad. It's a product of raiding Jack's mp3 collection. He told me: "Now the first song is instrumental 2/3 of the way. Then they scream "Tiger Army never dies". You are required to shake your fist in the air."

Done, and done. And the savings is passed to you. I knew exactly immediately who would most appreciate this album.

MIS and IT positions here are still a bit tight in the Boston Area. Best bet is to get his resume together and posted up on monster.com and face the onslaught of the recruiters (most of the positions seem to be via recruiters these days and almost all the job postings are via monster or hotjobs in the area for the tech field).

The other way of finding something up here is to be here and hit the job fairs. Harvard had one a couple of weeks ago, for instance, but you had to be here with resume in hand and willing to smooze a bit with the folks in charge to get noticed.

Unfortunately, my academic IT connection in Boston is in the process of being phased out of hir job entirely. :(
