Darlin', the one-liner posts, and the non-cut-tagged long posts, are making me crazy. I will still read your journal, and make comments, and I still love you. But you are scrolling my friends page into oblivion. If I have to scroll back twice to read them all, that's too much.
I'm sorry I missed you. I ran into rloveking and voltbang a few times, but never when you were with them.
Umm...you know, I usually don't do this sort of thing, but...
'Song. Ignore Elorie's commentary. You're a profligate poster, yes, and that's your RIGHT. It's your journal, love. Post as often as you want. (And you know what? I checked her friends' page. On her first page, only *two* of the entries are yours.) And most of the people who 'friend' you LOVE reading all your little posts. I certainly do.
Second: you very *rarely* post the long entries that one might wish were cut-tagged. You might (if you care to give her the stress energy, which I don't think this complaint deserves) remember to use the cut-tag if you're going to write long entries...but you know what? I don't always. I do, if I know ahead of time that it's going to be *real* long...but sometimes I don't. Sometimes I just Don't Want To. (And guess what? My journal. I can format it any way I like. And my real *friends*? They don't care.)
But I just don't personally worry about pandering to people who are reading, after all, MY JOURNAL. If I want to have a bunch of one-line entries, that's my choice. And if she doesn't want to read them, she doesn't have to. Scrolling past a one-line entry isn't that onerous.
If I were her, I'd be more likely to complain about the numerous un-cut TEST results on her friends' page than over someone who's actually having real life ISSUES to talk about.
So remember what you're dealing with today, and realize that this is yet another issue that doesn't deserve your stress energy.
Save your energy for those of us who would worship the least little gift of it, won't you? ^_^
*hugs* Honey, it's okay - she's actually right on the cut-tag from. I've just done four days of very long uncut Con reports, and then the morning thing about my friend... it was a lot.
Don't worry, I won't self-censor. :)
And I'm actually glad you couldn't make it down for the Con - my attention was divided then. This way, when you visit, I get to focus all of my energy on *you*. :)
You don't rant EVERY day ... just every other day. ;)
But seriously ... I don't mind it, if I do, I just skip over the post. As Iroshi said, it's YOUR journal. It's not for our pleasure, but yours. And if I worry that I might miss a post from some of my other friends because of your multiple postings each day, I simply go to my home page and click on their individual pages. Not a big deal. Hell, you're one of the few of my friends that actually makes constant posts. Most of my friends tend to post every couple of days to every couple of months! So I get to live vicariously through you! Gods know my life is relatively boring. Yours is exciting ... or at least, seems that way if we based it on how many LJ friends we have. LOL
My life's pretty boring... but, essentially, I started an LJ because my Florida friends felt that they were losding touch with what I was doing and how I was feeling on a daily basis. So I've kept to that intent and give really frequent updates. :)
People, I did NOT tell her to change how she posts. I was telling her...all up front and stuff...why I was thinking of taking her off my friends page, so she wouldn't be left wondering if she'd offended me or I didn't like her or something. She hasn't, and I do. But I am becoming increasingly defensive of MY space and MY time, and it's easier for me to just go to her journal and read the whole day's entries at once. She's not the only one who does things that take up a lot of space, and I'm not just picking on her, believe me.
You're right, she has a right to post in her journal however she wants. And I have a right to arrange my friends page however I want. Going to my friends page to "check up" on me, and dispute my preferences like I don't have a right to feel how I feel, is beyond rude. Thanks for making my attempt to give her a simple heads up...which had to be in her journal because I don't have a private way to contact her...into an Issue.
*hugs* Disregard, please, please! My friends get really bristly and defensive, especially when I've had the kind of weekend I've had.... I agree about the cut-tags and will employ them more in the future.
I just have lots of Warrior Bitches (term used fondly) in my life...
