At 2:30 I have to go to a stupid stupid ceremony where the construction company hands over a ceremonial key to the new building to the university.

Why do I have to go? I don't wanna.

LOL! You let Environmental Studies stay there too... Enjoy the ceremony. If you see a older guy in khakis and a dress shirt that's out at the elbows with a big white beard and glasses, that's my dad. But there's no guarantee that he'll go to the ceremony. He hates that sort of thing. But he might go anyway, he's quixotic like that.

It really is called the Mathematics and Science Center. :) We get the mail for the entire building - the post office people don't actually look at the addresses, they just give anything that says "math" on it to us...

When it's time to go, you get up and leave the office like everybody else, but stop in at the bathroom. Wait in there 'til you're sure everyone is well on their way, and then go back to your office. ^_^

Why yes, I *have* avoided school assemblies and large company functions in this manner.

You can't avoid functions with small numbers of people in this manner, but large assemblies of people? They all just assume they didn't see you while you were there, and if they come back in the office and see you back first...if they ask, just say you must have left the assemblage a bit earlier than them. Or you walk faster. :)
