They got the time wrong - the key thingie's at 3:30, not 2:30. So I have a bit of a reprieve.

No D&D tonight due to me still not being 100% well.

mousegrrl and I were having a discussion about our social circle last night, and about how her people sense is *really* accurate - she had big red flags about a Certain Person, for example, from the very beginning. So we discussed trimming our social circle to just the people she got a positive vibe from. And ended up not cutting anyone, because you all rock.

Also, we were discussing the animal-people thing - like her being a coyote, and sambear being, obviously, a bear. Last year at DragonCon, Mouse sketched all of us as our animal selves, but wasn't really certain what I was, and she listened to The Fox Who Was Really A Weasel (we didn't know he was a weasel yet then), who told her I was a kitten (his pet name for me). So she drew me as a catgirl. Which never felt right.

Well, we were discussing this last night, and how I definitely have a lot of feline going on, but my ultraprotectiveness of my Pack is more wolfy. And then she realized - I'm a lioness. Lionesses protect their packs just like alpha wolves do. I'm not a kitten; I'm way fiercer than that. :) We discussed that, too, how I'm often underestimated because I let people get away with more than I should - this is pretty much due to my lack of societal boundaries. But when people finally do cross that line...

Lioness. I like. :)

What are you guys? What do you feel an affinity toward?

i have no idea. that's something i'd love for someone to tell me, because i can't really get quiet enough anymore to tell myself. although i do have a thing for alligators and crocodiles. i like their smiles.

Although I usually run in housecat mode (I rather like the idea of me as a pampered pet)... I don't generally get any larger than Felis, but when it's big, it's Felis concolor.

Hm. I dunno, I guess. I've developed more of an affinity with dogs since having some of my own and I do tend to think in terms of the pack now, but I'd previously thought of myself as more wrennish, and still do to some extent.

I have no strong affinity (and yes, I know Mousie drew me as a skunk, but there's no affinity there). I wonder if that's tied to the skepticism? It's not that the two have to be related (I can relate to Trickster spirits, for example), but it seems possible.

I've always had a thing for hummingbirds and other feathered folk, but I dunno if I'd consider that to be my totem. ~shrug~

I'm very feline, but I'm not a housecat. There's a reason for the mountain lion in my user icon. :-) I also feel an affinity for bobcats, though.

sambear is a bear and a wolf. And I've become more wolfish and bearish in partnering with him, as he has become a little more feline.

Well, I own cats & dogs. I find snakes & spiders to be fascinating. My coat of arms in the SCA is a gryphon. And my ziodac critters include a lion, a snake & an ocelot.

So, what am I?
Damned if I know.

I am a hawk, love. Hence my middle name.

I also have associating with me a white wolf, cougar, and deer.

Chris has hawk (different species, though; his is red-tailed), wolf (not arctic), bear, and tiger. I tend to think of him as a bear (though his primary totem is hawk, and I call him Falcon), but they're all aspects of him.

I've always had a big affinity for wolves. There's wolf stuff all over my apartment. Sometimes I feel a little more big-cattish, but there's lots of wolf there.

My totem animal is Hawk, and I've always felt an affinity towards big cats, specifically Tigers. Other animals: Wren, Chipmunk, uhhh... Housecats. I was accused once of having Wolf in me, but that was I think becuause the accuser (girlfriend at the time) was a wolf-totem and wanted that affinity...

And also, you guys play D&D during the week? Dude. I am SO jealous.
