Adam and I have been together in various forms, best friends to partners, for nine years.

This upcoming Monday is our first wedding anniversary.

Adam, in bed this weekend: "The first anniversary is the paper anniversary. You know what that means..."
In unison: "Books!"

*grin* Shopping trip at Amazon.com accomplished. He will find this pleasing. Oh, yes.

Wow, it's been a year ALREADY?? Dang. Happy 365 days of married bliss!

Oh, I'm a book you guys might dig: "Finding Serenity: Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds, and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly". It's a bunch of essays from various writers and artists on the "Firefly" universe, and I immediately thought of you when I was reading it. Check it out!

*nods* We've got it - it's great!

Personally, I think they all should be paper anniversaries. Life would be so much niftier.

Early congratulations, you two, on the first year of your story-in-progress.

See, that works great only when someone figures out how to make DVDs out of paper.

BluRay. It's coming soon. Uses a paper substrate. =:o}

Hunh. I had no idea they were paper-based. I'd only been following the battle peripherally.

Congrats :)
Hey, i *still* have that hardest to find of the three designs of jade*
that you give to a couple, a tricolour one like a four sided vessel
with the chinese words "happy marriage" i think it is carved into it. Most are bought by Chinese couples and hard to find even in large listings from Shanghai and Hong Kong.
I only was able to find it after you got married.
As in Celtic threes and nines are very fortunate in Chinese culture and tricoloured jades even more so :)
Although it is technically a pendant it can be hung from a wall or whatever.
But i still need your addy to send it... (pout)

*the other two are the matched Dragon and Phoenix set and the two intertwined Mandarin Ducks. I have one each of those, they were extremely pricey and i'm saving them for my own future relationship if i'm ever lucky enough to get back into a really
"everything meshes" long term one :)

I was just thinking a day ago that any LJ user who gets email copies of comments can carry on a *semi* private email type thread on old LJ entries.

This addy...Atlanta? Druid Hill? I *know* this addy from somebody in TH but can't remember who.

Anyways, i found the jade again tonite, yeah, i lost track of it yet *again*
(stop laughing :) when i had to move everything for the heat contractors and will pack it up and mail it by next week. I'll let you know when it's on its way :)

Huh! I just saw this:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Harry Potter Day!
We're probably going this afternoon. Any other Atlantans going this afternoon?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in your lj... Then i double checked checked your info page. I *always* thought you lived in Florida! Did you move? No wonder that addy was familiar! (hits myself on the head!)
I must have seen it or mailed you a card or something sometime in the past.
btw-how *did* you wind up with such a cool sounding addy as Druid Hill Rd???

::nodnod:: We did books, too, I think. Although tickets to a musical would have been acceptable.

Third was fun! (We may need to switch to the modern list for ninth just so we can do leather again.) Just had wood. Next year, iron. Hm.

Books get me all excited too!
