Just got back from dinner/dessert with the lovely and charming [livejournal.com profile] eternalredneck, celebrating his new job (yay Ray!). Oh, and we decided that he was my half-brother. Because our blonde Irish birth-daddies (we're both adopted) both roamed the South in the mid70s knocking up short teenage girls. So, y'know, it is conceivable that we have the same father. :) So now he's my kid brother, yay!

And now I am going to bed. Molten Chocolate Cake wipes me out.

Oh oh oh! Also too! I got carded! I ordered a Bailey's cappucino and I got carded. I never get carded! And someone mistook me for a student at work yesterday. So I don't feel as old and decrepit now.

And re the depression posts: as I said in reply to [livejournal.com profile] tanaise, this is progress, because I'm talking. Usually I just go offline for a week or two, sit in a dark room, cut myself, and drown in this. But I'm talking. So this is a Good Thing.

Okay. Seriously. Bed.

Hooray for short-lived depressions! Yay! I used to always get mistaken for a student when I worked in Woodruff Library. It was okay, but a lot like being a student, because none of the cute girls would talk to me. Deja Vu...

Heh. Well, it ain't over. It's just at bay. Getting out and being with friends helps...

When did you work at Woodruff?

Uh... let's think here... February 2000 to November 2001, I think. I'm really REALLY bad with dates. I think that's right. Before that I worked a number of different jobs at Emory. I worked in ITD when they were still doing computer training classes, and I worked for the EmoryCard office fixing their cardreader machines (on the copiers and laundry machines, and the readers in the food court). Plus, both my parents work there. My dad teaches Envirnmental Studies and my mom works in the Beck Center at Woodruff Library. We're an Emory family.

I applied to Emory, and got accepted, but their art program (which is what I wanted to do at the time) sucks. So I went to State instead, discovered that I really COULDN'T draw, and dropped out. I keep ggoing back, doing horridly, and dropping out again. It's done wonders for my GPA...

::Hugs again::

Hmm... I must bite [livejournal.com profile] eternalredneck sometime soon; haven't done so in a while. Heh.

Only bite him if he wants you to, else I shall have to step in and protect him from you. ;)

Aww... Anyhow, ask him about his ears and his birthday. :)

I'm very glad it isn't getting to the cutting in a dark room stage... cutting alone is not something I consider good, but in a dark room sounds even worse. Yay to friends and being carded.
