Hello to new reader
goddess_of_art!
Medical
Exhaustion + nausea. I've been infernally hard to wake lately... still spoonless from my back-to-back trips. And making another in less than a week - go me! Oy.
Cardiologist today at 11:15. Nothing major to report; those drugs are mostly working. I'm only getting the palpitations about once every week or two weeks now, and I can live with that.
Flattery will - oh, wait, it *will* get you everywhere.
Two cute guys have called me witty/quick-witted in the last 48 hours. Huh. I think I'm catching Adam's reflected glow. Adam is the funny one!
Shayara Stuff
The Blogathon chapbook is assembled, save for the introduction. It has the Blogathon stories for 2003 (Fenris and Jessa during the Purges) and 2004 (a day in the life of the four sisters: Tessa, Alanna, Katrianna, and Julia), and I threw in "Fallen" and Shawn's story for the heck of it. There's introductory art for each story (except "Fallen") and for each sister. My graphics person is doing funky-fresh graphic design things with it. It is shiny. And all profits will go to RAINN.
While waiting at the pharmacy yesterday, I drew up a rough plan for the primer; basically; I'm going to alternate "fiction" and "nonfiction". A storybit, then a historical note about their diaspora. A storybit, then something about government. Sound good? Some of the stuff will be stuff I've already posted here, of course, because I post a lot of stuff here - but in this, you'll have it in a handy-dandy reference book and stuff.
Turn the Radio Up
Elayna's new favorite song? "Make Me Lose Control", by Eric Carmen. She sings along. My kid is an odd duck.
Friday Memeage!
Wearing
Teal twinset, jeans, red panties with "kinky" in candy hearts, skinny cow socks.
Reading
Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich (this is the one about the MIT blackjack team), and a bunch of magazines that arrived while I was away.
Elayna is Reading
Having thoroughly enjoyed The Westing Game, Elayna is now reading The Mysterious Disappearance of Leon (I mean Noel), also by Ellen Raskin.
Writing
Well, duh.
Planning
To bust my ass on that primer. And find a title for it. Being as it's a RAINN benefit, I'm calling the Blogathon chapbook "Stories from Silence". I'll figure the primer's title out.
You?

And I once hoped that the Reel Big Fish song where the singer repeatedly sings "I don't fucking care, said I don't fucking care, said I don't fucking care anymore" had been sung to the tune of "come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me..." 'Cause, y'know, it already almost is.

Friday.
Reading: Bits and pieces while waiting for a few more books I ordered to come in - I have bookmarks in Fountainhead, The Blue Sword, and Spirit in the Wires, which I should read for the 1st time all-the-way-through soon.
Planning: Want to roast a chicken and make really good chicken soup from the carcass (and dark meat) this weekend. Need to tidy house. Need to work on a few personal issues/deadlines. Need to stop feeling like I'm coasting through life.

And I didn't even know Ellen Raskin had more books out. I'll have to go look into this.

Reading: 'Norwegian Wood' (Haruki Murakami). I should probably finish that today: no idea what's next on the stack.
Planning: to spend the last day of my vacation inside intensely hating the fact that I was not born with an X and a Y chromosome. Enjoying the return of my spouse this evening.

Take care of yourself.
