Fares to Seattle get a lot cheaper if you're willing to drive to Birmingham or Nashville (recommended; really isn't a bad drive, I've done it a couple of times) and fly out of there. I've seen them get down to $198 or better.
Flying on Southwest (http://www.southwest.com) to Sea-Tac looks pretty good: it's $99/one way. You could fly out of Birmingham; that's probably the closest place for you. Good luck getting a good price!
Two things: One, if you're looking all the way out at next July, you'll want to wait until March or April. Ideally you can get a fare with a lead digit of a 1, 2 if you must. Two, there is a shuttle bus from Hartsfield to Birmingham if Southwest proves to be cheaper.... which it might. Oh, and a third. Do NOT fly Delta. They can't keep their planes fixed, and you WILL be late... and I worry about that mainenance factor... Posted using Links for the first time :)
Also check smaller airlines like ATA--basically check out Seattle's and Atlanta's airport webpages, then check out the home pages for each of the airlines that hit both.
They do go way down. You might want to get on one (or more) of the mailing lists that give out cheap air fare prices. Sometimes the sales are really low.

I strongly recommend against Hotwire.
