And it is well and truly over, 'tis, until I receive apologies...

We are back to our regularly-scheduled 'song programming.

It's Monday.

I'm actually feeling close to healthy. Headachey, but the flu-thingy appears to be gone. *crossing fingers*

I would quote the SARK calendar page, but it's dumb today. So I'll just point you to www.campsark.com. So you can check this SARK person out for yourself.

I have registered an official shift in Elayna's taste. This weekend, she changed the channel from Fairly Oddparents to Kim Possible. New favorite show. Older-skewing, which is good. :)

Oh! A question for today: If cost were no object, what would you want to be for Halloween?

Glad to hear you're doing better...

If cost was no object, I'd like to be an elven queen...with pointy ears, beautiful gowns, the whole nine yards...(yep, I'm too much of an elf freak...)

Would you believe Halloween wasn't celebrated here in Norway while I grew up? :(

A dryad for me. I think I've done every other costume I really wanted to . . . (of course should one of my friends have a Halloween party this year--since Steve and Tony D. moved out of the party house we just don't have a good party location--I will go as a dryad, though I'm still out on the issue of green body paint. I'm thinking green glitter will be cooler and not as messy, and I won't look like the Orion Slave Girl from Star Trek).

Warning, rambly today. Had about 3 hours of sleep cause I kept waking up every damn hour in pain with this stupid migraine. It's mostly gone now, but I'm sooooo not together (and not at work--it's not good to proofread when feeling stoned after all).

I know you love her, but sweetie, this is a set-up line if I've ever heard one.

My evil twin, but with more expensive clothing. I told you -- I don't dress up. :-)

Have you ever read anything by SARK? No. So shut up, sweetie. :)

And I *will* get you to dress up for Halloween, I will...

I've skimmed through her books any number of times, but my horrible allergy to twee always gets in the way.

And I'll dress up as a monster or something, but only if he's going in disguise as my evil twin.

I went to a convention once costumed as an assassin. Blue jeans, back t-shirt, some buttons. And a big rubber costume knife hidden under my shirt.

I'd do a fairy *properly* - ears by the guy who did LotR, amazing gown, wings a la Amy Brown ...

Although I've always wanted to do Cosette ... just figured Very Few people would get it even if I told them who I was.
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:18 am (UTC)
Human. :)
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:21 am (UTC)
Be a bit of a stretch, wouldn't it?
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:23 am (UTC)
LOL!
You have been talking to too many of my other friends!
::Grin::

Purely instinct, darlin'. :)
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:33 am (UTC)
I would be Morgana of the Fae, in a loooong purple brocade and velvet dress with huge drippy sleeves, proper elven ears, brocade purple court shoes with a Louis heel, beautiful jewelry and accessories, The Whole Big Thing!

I wish someone was having a halloween party, I love to dress up!

I LOVE Kim Possible *chuckle*.

Anyway...every year I think about what I"d like to do for Halloween - we actually celebrate it in the office - complete with potluck and costumes and everything. But I never have the time to work on it due to children's costumes needing to get made, and the end of Fest fatigue...So I usually go with the Default Halloween Costume - aka - my Fest garb. You would think I'd be sick of it after 7 weeks, but noooo...it gets donned one more time....

But if cost were no object, I'd like to make that Elizabethan gown....I know I'd never wear it out at fest - musicians just don't dress that way - but still...

!! Sick?? Of Faire garb?? Never. It's what I wear for Halloween because I'd wear it every day if I could, and I know Halloween is my last chance for the season.

Why o why can't I dress like that EVERY DAY?

*chuckle* I meant theoretically - after 7 weeks of sweat, dust, dirt, etc...this year has been particularly nasty so far in the weather realm - first 4 weekends were nothing but heat and humidity up here - not good for playing music or dancing or anything.

I love garb - I don't particularly like my current garb though. I haven't really found a bodice style that's *me* quite yet...mainly because I keep moving around to different areas of fest changing what my character does. As it is, my bodice is a little too middle class for what I'm doing, but I didn't have the money to make new garb this year...I really want a leather bodice - but I really want to lose a LOT of weight first. *chuckle*.

Eeyore. Floating on my back in a custom made stream with a bridge for all the other trickortreaters to play Pooh sticks.
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:48 am (UTC)
Can I be Sir Bors? I'd have fake blood and a cute stuffed bunny hanging off my carotid by the teeth...
Monday, September 16th, 2002 06:49 am (UTC)
My daughter loves Kim Possible, too. If she likes that, she might like Even Stevens; the girl who does Kim's voice is on that show.

Anyway, as for Halloween, I wouldn't dress up for it, but I might go all out for a really good Sabbat celebration up in the mountains somewhere. :)

If cost were no object, then I'd put together one of the two costumes I've always wanted to do: Mark from Battle of the Planets / (originally Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman) or the titular character from Tron. Both costumes are feasible and could be put together by friends of mine who have the talent to do so, but it would cost me a pretty penny.

cheers,
Phil

[livejournal.com profile] jerronimo used some electroluminescent cord to make a tron costume last year, you might interrogate him...

Like you know. The software. In the box. It'd be so cool.

The problem is, I'll get beat up for sure, and in an oversized software box, I wouldn't be able to defend myself. [livejournal.com profile] missrachael could protect me, except that she'd be too busy pushing me down and taking my candy away.
Monday, September 16th, 2002 08:44 am (UTC)
Well, you kinda deserve that. I read what you did to her with the maple syrup. :)
Monday, September 16th, 2002 08:52 am (UTC)
Hahah.. yeah, but it was worth it. You should have seen her face! The last thing she expected while she was in the shower was MAPLE SYRUP, to be sure!!!
Monday, September 16th, 2002 08:18 am (UTC)
A werewolf. I've done werewolf costumes in the past, but this'd be a REAL one, Hollywood style, with real claws and teeth and digitigrade legs.
Monday, September 16th, 2002 08:48 am (UTC)
A nebari obviously (chiana from farscape, the sexy grey girl)
Monday, September 16th, 2002 09:24 am (UTC)
Does cost include surgery?

I would like to be my dream self. An anthropmorphic winged panther, with real leather wings I could stretch and fold at will and glow-in-the-dark eyes. Sharp claws and specially made shoes so that my legs appear digitigrade. And a voice modulator/amplifier so my voice sounds an octave lower.
