I want a new house.

Actually, I don't want a new house. I love this house - I just want to buy it and expand it. I want a walk-in closet, dammit; we're severely lacking in storage space. And I want my own office, not just the sitting area between the bedroom and the living room.

And I want more space for bookcases..

We have towering stacks of books *everywhere* and nowhere to put more bookcases. My parents recently sent me the entire Trixie Belden series, one of my childhood favorites (the books had been in their garage). 30-something books. Oh, and my Little House on the Prairie books were in there too. But Elayna's bookcases are full. I cannot think of anywhere we can put another bookcase for her.

I want space. I want room to move. I want big closets and more electrical outlets. I want to be able to plant a garden.

I want my own house.

[livejournal.com profile] inannajones and I have this conversation all the time. In a few years time, we'll have it.

I know how you feel. I wanted nothing more than my own house. And when we finally got one, it was teeny-tiny with no room to move whatsoever. But we had big plans for it -- plus it came with 45 acres of wooded and pasture land. Then we sold it and moved to a quarter acre in town. But the house is bigger. Unfortunately, even though A has big plans to remodel, we can't do that until we have more money. Pooh.

You know, you could likely buy a house, albeit farther out, for well within your price range. Tracey and I house-sat for a friend of hers in Gwinnett county, and their house was obscene and cost less than 200G. Of course, that's a bit far out, but I'm sure you could do something like that.

Yeah, that's the thing... I love our location. 5 minutes from work, and a great school district...
