I just found out that we get to decorate the workroom for Halloween! We even get a (small, yet-to-be-determined) budget! Yay! Ohhh, we have Plans.... crepe paper and tombstones and all sorts of stuff...

I *love* Halloween. :)

Now if only I can get them to let me dress up...

I hate dressing up at work for Halloween - my costumes are NEVER appropriete to the work place. Skin tight dancers unitards with full face paint and cat slit contacts and a loin cloth doesn't go over... approprietly at work. And anything less is just boring. *pout*

Example #2 of why I adore [livejournal.com profile] kelrick, ladies and gentlemen.

I know a guy that's done that very thing (minus the contacts) as a zebra for the last three years at Burning Man. He even does his hair right. Made it into the Reno newspaper this year. (http://www.rgj.com/news/stories/html/2002/08/30/22737.php?sp1=rgj&sp2=Special+Reports&sp3=Burning+Man)

Shibby... (awed voice) Yum prey. *griN* but Burning man and work are 2 very different places.

And can I jsut say that what he is wearing is MY idea of fursuit. Even if the other furries disagree. :P

Is there anyone who doesn't like Hallowe'en? I'm starting to plan for it already, too...

My department decorated our entire building one year -- I think we scared the rest of the building with our "creativity." But we had a giant spider stuffed with newspaper (with a Yankees cap on its head) in someone's office for months.

Your job is celebrating my birthday? SWEET!

You have like the coolest birthday ever. :)

Finish your story!

And my anniversary! Isn't that just cool that we have alllllllll these people who want to celebrate with us?

We're popular! Yayyyy!

Unless there is an active statement forbidding it, I don't bother asking permission :)

What would you dress as?

For work, I wouldn't do anything *too* out-there... maybe a Star Trek uniform (original series - the Uhura dress) or my cat ears, black clothes, and a tail...

About a third of our agency generally dresses, including the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner. I don't remember what the Commissioner did last year, but she was the Headless Horseman one year. I used to always take H'ween off, but that was because a bunch of us ran a haunted house every year. That has since died (the last one was just Way Too Much effort with Very Little Help whatsoever), so now I indulge my love of H'ween by dressing up at work.

Year before last I did Medieval Maiden (which was really hard to maneuver in the bathroom!) and last year, I did Witch. This year, I'm going to do Prof. McGonagall, though I don't know where I'll find a Hogwarts brooch.

Yay! Happlily the company I'm working for now "celebrates" Halloween. No bonfires or anything, but at least we can decorate and dress up!
I'm having a difficult time planning the decor for my office tho - because of the nature of this place, I'm avoiding skulls and body parts (that cuts out a lot of creative expression ;p) heh.
Part of me is bending toward the "Holly Hobby" theme which is cute enough to send anyone over the edge.

I think I'll decorate my cube this october as well. My team all puts a sort of "icon" on the tops of our cubicle walls. Mine is a gargoyle with a laptop, so it will already fit right in.

Is it time to take down the christmas decorations in my cube already?
