From the BPAL.org forum:

All orders containing Pumpkin Queen are temporarily held up because of component issues. As soon as this changes I'll post another announcement.

Yeah. Guess what the one scent I was ordering unsniffed in my Order of Doom was?

Pumpkin Queen.

*falls to knees* "KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"

*pant* *pant* *glares at curious pedestrians*

That's Black Moon Rising (the descriptions of Schwartzer Mond are driving me crazy!), Pumpkin Queen, Devil's Night, Samhain, The Black Tower, and an imp pack. My gift to myself for going through the hospital shit.

Anyway.

On another BPAL track...

Adam: "Mmm, you smell nice. What are you wearing?"

Me: "Cockaigne." Same as this morning. And yesterday.

Adam: "Huh. There's definitely a tobacco component to it."

Me: *sniffs wrist skeptically*

Adam: "Or something to do with old books."

Me: "Huh. Well, it is based on a land of plenty concept. Heaven. Honey cakes, sex..... and [livejournal.com profile] kissmythistle said it would make sense for everyone's paradise to smell different. So your paradise is a library."

I am unsurprised that Adam's idea of paradise is a library. I just find it fascinating how different people find different things in this scent.

Pumpkin Queen? Nooooooooo! My order had a bottle of PQ (and, uh, many other things, 'cause I got a little carried away). Waaaahhhhh!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:38 am (UTC)
Hee! What other things?
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:03 am (UTC)
A library with bacon, I assume?
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 09:23 am (UTC)
No no, because then you'd get grease on the books!

Perhaps in paradise, there is greaseless bacon.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:18 pm (UTC)
Oh, definitely. :-D

I don't mean to sound uninformed and if you are too busy packing I can completely understand you not answering, but what is BPAL exactly? I keep hearing you and others talk about it and I haven't the faintest idea of what it is outside of perfume-- but really good perfume as it sounds. :)

Anywho, I will commiserate at not getting something you ordered, as I ordered a book from abebooks.com and it wasn't available!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:24 am (UTC)
And to that, nevermind! I am now ordering my first sample set (Imp?).

I am so excited! :)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:26 am (UTC)
Heehee. That's how it always starts... ;)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:28 am (UTC)
As of right now, I am getting the samples of:

NEFERTITI
Delight
Bathsheba
Ave Maria Gratia Plena
SIREN

I love sandalwood... to have sandalwood perfume again! I got it once, and it was the most amazing scent I have ever smelled, all in a small bottle of sandalwood oil.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:32 am (UTC)
There are a lot of great sandalwood blends. I hope you find one you love!

I also recommend checking out [livejournal.com profile] bpalanonymous and the forums at http://www.bpal.org . Lots of friendly people, and scent reviews!

I love sandalwood, too. Best perfume I've ever had was a small box of sandalwood scented cream. I just ordered my first set from BPAL, and went in several different directions. Couldn't resist the descriptions of Yydrigal and Coyote - had to have some of them. Also ordered Dublin because of the forests, and Lyonesse and Dragon's Claw because they have sandalwood. I'll let you know what I think when I get 'em :)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 02:08 pm (UTC)
Oh, please do! I will let you know about my six as well!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:38 am (UTC)
Hee! Yeah, sorry, I'd gone to bed...

Yay new BPAL junkie!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 02:08 pm (UTC)
Its perfectly okay! I'm so excited though, I want the samples now! :)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:12 am (UTC)
About a week after you placed your BPAL Order of Doom, I placed my own. An imp pack, the entire Pumpkin Patch set, Creepy, Devil's Night, Punkie Night, and...Pumpkin Queen. *cry* So believe me, I feel your pain. :(
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:37 am (UTC)
*hugs* Much suck! (Yay for the whole Patch, though!)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:24 am (UTC)
Hey! MY paradise is a library too!

Or at least my home is.

Bookstores can work if the shelves are twisty enough.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:36 am (UTC)
I had someone compare my home to a library recently. I beamed. :)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 05:06 am (UTC)
A bunch of us girls up here made a HUGE group order, and I know it had at least one bottle of Pumpkin Queen (mine! *woe*). I'm so bummed!

I shall attempt to console myself with the bottle of Cockaigne I ordered from [livejournal.com profile] prunesnprisms, as soon as it arrives.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:36 am (UTC)
Cockaigne is so delicious! I'm okay with not getting any more Beaver Moon now.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 11:50 am (UTC)
Really?? Wow, now that's saying something...
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 11:52 am (UTC)
*nods* I love my Beaver Moon, mind. But Cockaigne is a good GC equivalent. For me, at least.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 08:00 am (UTC)
See, and here I was about to place an order for PQ either today or tomorrow. Rar.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 10:35 am (UTC)
Beth said in another thread that things should be fixed by Friday. It's just that - argh! People who placed their order a week after me are getting their CnS, and I still have yet to get mine!

They're doing the Lunacy orders now - I know that bottlenecks the Lab. I really hope they prioritize the earlier orders when the component comes in.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 11:35 am (UTC)
I imagine they will - they probably have the boxes all packed except for PQ, in fact, so they can mail 'em out as soon as they brew up a new batch.

I wonder which component it is?
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 12:31 pm (UTC)
They are? Ooooooh. That must be what the CnS I got late last night is for. Makes sense now!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:20 pm (UTC)
Was that for our Kindly Moon order, or something else?
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:30 pm (UTC)
I believe it is our Kindly Moon order, though I will need to verify that when I get home. I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 08:00 am (UTC)
My paradise would also certainly be a library, but not a silent one. A library with an excellent sound system playing a huge variety of music all day long.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:26 pm (UTC)
Ah, yes. Pumpkin Queen.

The 5ml that I ordered along with 2 batches of imps ... three weeks ago.

Sigh.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:30 pm (UTC)
Also: The library thing is why I love Miskatonic U so much. I have to say, I don't really like it as a personal scent so much ... but I'll dab some on when I'm hip-deep in writng, and it just sets the mood so well, all dusty books and sweet coffee.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 04:36 pm (UTC)
I have several scents that don't suit as a personal scent, but yes, really set the mood for writing...

I'm amused that Elayna loves Misk U like she does, considering there's coffee in there!
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 05:15 pm (UTC)
Can I sniff your sent?... :-) I am wondering now what it's all about. (I have very acute senses and I pick up what most don't detect.)
Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 06:35 pm (UTC)
Meep. I guess that's what's holding up my decants from the Halloweenies order that we made a while back.
