The Woods Hole Children's School of Science has their 2008 schedule/registration info up! Finally! I was beginning to get worried...

Of the available classes,I think Elayna will be most interested in Entomology, Embryology, and Biological Illustration in Session A and Global Sustainability and Microbial Life in Session B. I shall have her look the whole thing over when she gets home from school... and then it will be time to beg for money from the grandparents.

If we can room with my aunt in Falmouth, this ends up being cheaper for them than the summer camp she attended in Florida. If my aunt sells her condo... we'll see how much rent is out there. **crosses fingers for aunt to stay**

I'm just really relieved that this stuff is finally up. Those of you who were reading when we visited Woods Hole last summer know how important this is to her, and how much she's been looking forward to it.

I was just thinking about this yesterday, spurred by something my youngest sister mentioned.

This is a great opportunity.

I was looking at these, and I think she'll like the same ones you think she'll like. Thus, we are awesome.

How about setting up a "Send Elanya to the Squids for the Summer" donation fund via PayPal? I'd kick ten...

Cephalopod Summer!

I'm going to poke the grandparents first; they're accustomed to shelling out for summer camp. I'll set up a PayPal fund if I need more, though.

Definitely setting up a fund for our post-squid train trip.

Wow, that sounds like a cool school!

I just finished reviewing a new class for the Grey School of Wizardry, "Preserving the Earth." It's about sustainable practices and some environmental threats like global warming, and it's based partly on student projects from previous Earth Day Challenges. If Elayna is interested in magick or mysticism, you might encourage her to take a peek at the Grey School some time:
