The Sindrian Arts store is open for business! If you missed your chance to pre-order a Kikori CNC gantry router during [livejournal.com profile] sindrian's Kickstarter, now is the time to jump on it, because this week? Free shipping. Yeah, I said it.

[livejournal.com profile] sindrian's goal with the Kikori was to create a DIY CNC router that could be sold to small businesses and hobbyists for under $5,000, making small-scale manufacturing and rapid prototyping way easier and more accessible. He has totally succeeded - his full kit is priced at only $3,345. (By comparison, a comparable ShopBot costs $12,000 on the low end.)

The Kikori is 4' x 8'. (If you're interested in a half-size Kikori, contact [livejournal.com profile] sindrian!)

If you want to build a Kikori but don't want a complete kit, that's cool. You can also get just the MDO parts, a hardware and electronics kit, a just-hardware kit, or a just-electronics kit. We're flexible!

Kits are all made to order, so allow a few weeks for that - especially at the beginning of this process, as [livejournal.com profile] sindrian is milling out all of those Kickstarter rewards! He's starting to ship the pre-ordered Kikori kits this week and is working his way down through the levels to y'all's standing desks and tablet stands and stuff. Thank you so much for that Kickstarter support - it really helped him perfect the Kikori. :)

If you order, tell him I sent you! <3

This is very cool and I'm so glad that it came together. I got really excited when I first saw and took part in the Kickstarter, and it's been really cool getting the updates. :)

The Kikori isn't a product I would personally use, but I look forward to my engineer friends getting their hands on it :D
