* Other than that (Mrs. Lincoln), I did enjoy the party.

* I am going back to BARCC Peer Supe tonight. My leave technically ended a while ago, but I only returned once; he kept maneuvering me out of it. I am nervous, but I am going back. Taking all the parts of me back.

* And then I'm going to a friend's for crafting, and tomorrow I have a second date, and Wednesday I'm meeting a friend for coffee then, later, going out dancing.

* I've joined an Ann Weaver knit-a-long which will hopefully help me get my knitting mojo back. Peer pressure + pretty colors + timed sprints!

* Saw Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing yesterday and liked it very much. Thompson/Branagh are still my OTP, but I did like Acker/Denisof!

* I have the new Dessa album and it's great.

* I have two kinds of Paying Work for this week.

I've been on the road since the 6th -- Wilmington, DE to Chicago to the Black Hills to an Iowa blink-and-you-miss-it farm town to, at this point, north central Indiana, and tonight back to New York state to sleep in a bed that is mine. And I kind of don't want it to end. (But I also kind of want to unpack the car and find out what's in there.) I feel like this has been a very good way to start making a transition between who-I-was-before and who-I-will-become-next.

I don't know who I *will* become next. But probably not a long-haul trucker.

What's new and good? The fact that I haven't up and died from the profound misery that is Depakote withdrawal is a verra, verra good thing indeed. As miserable as I am (which is WAY), the fact that I continue to exist seems like a win.

* Finally got a prescription for my ADHD. I imagine my to-do lists will shrink must faster as soon as I manage to get it filled.

* Had a story idea pop into my head fully formed. I turned it a little, shifted the perspective and it's even better. That hasn't happened in years. I can't wait to get it out of my head and let someone read it, see if they think of it like I do.

* Started a new knitting project, something for myself, which is new. Something to grow my skills a bit, which is not. I'm kind of in love with the yarn, so beautiful, soft and easy to work with (it is alas discontinued, otherwise I'd share). The pattern is also a win.

* Finally got the giant pile of cardboard recycling that had been lingering by the front door for months, out and into the recycling cans for the complex. Yay for space by the front door again!

* Came home tonight to a check in the mail. It's not a big one but they all add up nicely. :)

Yeah, I looked at the pattern when you posted it, in case it was something I'd like and then when I saw these two sentences:

This is an adventurous beginner project. Techniques will include picking up stitches, slipped stitch patterns, eyelet patterns, and simple cables and traveling stitches.

And I just thought, 'those two sentences do not belong next to each other.' Also, I am sure to the pattern authors that I am the barest, most basic beginner ever.

Good luck with it, for sure. Hopefully focusing on yarn will let your brain relax a bit.

New and good with me: I am back to taking hotline shifts after being on leave. I am moving into a place next month that already feels like home with people who I'm intentionally moving in with. I have a job that I like, even though it's not the end of the hall I want to be on.
