I read *alot* of comix.. Web and otherwise. Yours is a very good start (I've only seen the ones that are linked lik e1-22 on your diary) and it's really good. The art is great the story is.. I wanna know tell me now good.. and that's a great begining.

The art is by mousegrrl - you should check out her website! :) And the story's been growing and twisting and turning in my head for half my life - I'm just glad it makes sense to people who aren't me. :)

in case you don't already, you and mousegrrl should know that the name "Sharayah", not "Shayara" but "Sharayah", close enough to cause lots of confusion, has already been in use for many years by Georgia artist Bob Giadrosich. Sharayah Press (http://www.sharayahpress.com/) is the name of the company he created as a vehicle for his own artwork.

I don't know how set you guys are on "Shayara" as a name, but if you can change it without making a hell of a mess of things, you may want to do so to help avoid confusion (and possibly to keep from irritating lawyers).

Anyways, I intend to read it when it arrives, whatever it's called. I like mousegrrl's art. :)

We're pretty set... I've kinda built the Dasaroi language around it. Well, not it specifically, but it means something in Dasaroi. The city used to be called ki'Lishaya'ra (stronghold of the kin of the Lishaya - it's a syllabic language, like Mandarin), but the language was corrupted over time...

Besides, (a) that guy doesn't seem to do anything comics-related, (b) we've already submitted to Oni Press and Sequential Tart and sold copies as Shayara, and are established at www.shayara.com, and (c) we're not "Shayara Press" or anything similar - we're "Kat & Mouse Studios". So there shouldn't be too much confusion.
