I am obsessed with Illyana Rasputin. :)

Who, like her brother Piotr, is dead, alas.

I stopped reading X-Men when they killed her off. I loved Magick.

(I seem to have a tendency for having my favorite characters killed off -- Raven in Teen Titans, Tinya in Legion. Bah.)

Ooooh Raven was *my* favourite when I was a teenager reading Teen Titans, too!

Raven's not exactly dead. She's simply not as incarnate as she used to be. :)

Wasn't Tinya simply blasted back a thousand years, to become Phase w/L.E.G.I.O.N.? Or is this something that's happened in the post-reboot LSH (which I refuse to acknowledge, as it would mean accepting Zero Hour, and I won't even get started on that).

No...Phase turned out to be Tinya's cousin, who was with her in the shuttle. Jo went back in time and caught up with her, then realized she wasn't really Tinya.

I *loved* Dark Legion. That's when I started reading. I stopped sometime after the reboot, but not before reboot Tinya got blasted and killed again, tho it eventually turned out she was trapped in phantom shape without a body (she phased into Jo when she got blasted), and she and Jo had to angst about not being able to touch.

Ah -- that was after I gave up on them. I was a Legion fanatic during the Paul Levitz run, and thanks to the digest reprints, read just about everything from the beginning. I loved Giffen and the Bierbaum's runs, but was getting jaded around then. I still think Phase should have been Tinya herself. Although that probably would have invalidated Jo's grief.
