Weekend update.

I channeled yesterday's "angry day" into cleaning Miss Kid's room - stripped her bed, washed the sheets, made the bed, put away all her stuffed animals, cleaned and organized her computer desk, organized and put away her hangers, and went through her magazine crate - trashed the Nickelodeons and Highlights, kept the Ranger Ricks, National Geographic Worlds, and Zoobooks. A dent has officially been made.

Then we picked Donna up; [livejournal.com profile] yendi has already summed last night up in his journal. I so did not want Donna to leave! [livejournal.com profile] yendi and I both love her so much...

And, as [livejournal.com profile] yendi also said, we are operating on a distinct lack of sleep this morning. But it was worth it.

I've now hit 60 friends, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nomadmwe (yay! Love making new friends! And [livejournal.com profile] kelrick, *now* I'll focus on 69). :)

And I brought my Shayara concordance with me today, as well as all of the bios I did for Mousie, so I can really get cracking on the streamlined bios for the website. And Mousie: If it helps, just picture me in a cheerleader outfit, waving my pompoms, cheering you on. :)

Now reading:
At lunch: Finishing The Red Tape War by Effinger, Chalker, and Resnick; about to start Knight Fantastic
At home: Knight Life by Peter David

The number of LARPers on your list is growing. You're even getting ones from my crowd up here! Pay no attention while we try to take over your life.....

It's funny you mention that... I first assumed that she was a larper...

And now, soon, she will join us... bwahahaha...

If y'all start chanting "one of us", I'm going to have to run screaming...
Monday, June 17th, 2002 08:45 am (UTC)
"One of us! One of us!"

Now, I only know that from the Clerks Animated Series... where else does it come from? (Watch as I expose the gaps in my pop culture knowledge.)

*gasp* Big gap there! The Ramones.

Moment of silence, please, for Joey and Dee Dee...

actually, the origin of that was Freaks, the classic, um, freak movie by Dracula director Tod Browning, made back in the 30s. it's about the doomed love of a sideshow freak and a beautiful trapeze artist, and starred a number of actual sideshow freaks, including Schlitzie, the original "pinhead"...

i've only seen it once, in the private lounge of a long-defunct goth/industrial nightclub on Long Island, whilst under the influence of Electric Ice Tea... very creepy, weird, cool movie.

and that's where the Ramones got it from. =)

I'm reading "DV," by Diana Vreeland, the bible of the lovely Miss Vida Boheme in "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar."

"Larger than life is just the right size."

In response to some silly survey once, I said that the title of my biography ought to be "Larger than Life". My personality is just way bigger than my body...

Okay, I have to ask - why doesn't Miss Kid do those things for herself? Yes, she is old enough.

I'm reading Killing Monsters by Gerard Jones. I still have Dangerous Angels by Francesca Lia Block to finish as soon as I can stand the language again.

And finishing the rebuild on F's PC. And pondering how to get people to do the routine "housecleaning" things to keep them running more smoothly, just like they (presumably) get the oil changed in their cars regularly.

Oh, she does clean her room herself! When she's here. She's in Florida for the summer. Things got kinda chaotic when we were packing her stuff, and she didn't have time to tidy up before she left.
