There will be no Kung Fu Theater on Friday, as yendi and I will be at the They Might be Giants concert (free! yay!) - who else is going to that, besides glenn5?
I'm bringing a surprise visitor, and so may be coming straight from the airport. Name a time and a place outside Centennial Park; that should be good.
Who all's playing D&D on Thursday?
I haven't played since middle school, with the original AD&D books. How quickly could I get up to speed (assuming you'd even invite me, which I wouldn't presume)?
The D&D group is me, yendi, deza, and our friends Mike, Thomas, and John, who aren't on LJ. Last week was our first time playing - and we're already meeting deza's and John's characters on Thursday, we may as well meet yours too! And of course you're invited. :)
You know basic races and character classes, right? And character stats? Tell me what you know, and I'll tell you what else you need to know. And maybe you should come over earlier on Thursday to meet the DM and stuff.
Our rolling method: We rolled 4d6 and dropped the lowst die, 16 times. Wrote the results as we got them in cube formation, 4 down, 4 across. Selected the best row, vertically or diagonally or horizontally. Then rolled twice more. And arranged the stats to suit our characters. :)
Constitution, of course! I was thinking "stamina" but knew that wasn't right.
So once you have the six scores, you assign them based on the kind of character you want to have? Like, if you have a thief, you'll give the highest score to Dexterity?
Yeah, everyone's first-level. We have two thieves (one an illusionist), a gypsy, a bard, and a fighter, and whatever mousegrrl decides to play. The premise is that the battle of good vs. evil has been won by good, but the last truly neutral people realize that you can't just have good, balance is needed, so we're being recruited to be evil. We're pretty much starting out in a range of neutrals. You can play with your alignment, but you should kinda avoid lawful good.
Mike doesn't seem to be here today! I'll make sure, but I'm 95% certain he'd be fine with it.

So! Want to meet up before or after the show, or designate a place to meet at the show, or something?

Here's what I know
Races: Humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, half-orcs.
Classes: Magic-users, thieves, fighters, clerics (and various subdivisions like rangers, illusionists and druids).
Characteristics: Strength, dexterity, intelligence, wisdom, charisma...seems like there were six but that's all I can think of.
Player characteristics run from 3 to 18, determined by throwing three six-sided dice.

Who is your DM?

Our DM is Mike. You do not know Mike. We have not yet talked him into getting on LJ.

What job isn't filled yet? You have a thief, and what else?
Is everyone first-level?
