The department is moving to a brand-new building July 29-August 2.

I am going to have to pack up pretty much all of the common-area files and stuff.

This is gonna suck ass.

I plan to start the intensive packing next week.... I'm currently just trying to file all of the loose paperwork in my area.

*sigh*

I am going to need daily massages starting next week.

You have my sympathy. We just managed to avoid something similar in my department, as the university was planning on selling our buildings off to try and help offset the ongoing financial crisis caused by the introduction of tuition fees a couple of years back but reconsidered for some reason, even though enough departments have already gone under that there's a fair amount of empty office space on campus these days.

Oh, they built a new building just for our department and a few others. The Mathematics & Science Center. I'm looking forward to having my new (more spacious, and with windows) office... I'm just dreading the packing/unpacking process.

I could finally get my own office these days, if I hadn't got a more convenient location when I bought my house. I'm actually closer to the campus here than my department is, though nothing is more than 5 minutes walk from campus anywhere in the town, we are after all, apparently the smallest unversity town in Europe.

I wasn't looking forward to the moving process, when it was on the cards, but these days it's all hands to the pumps when necessary. I sometimes think I hang on here like this because I like to be the last one to leave a party and there's a fair chance I could manage it with this place if I last. <.G>
