Waaal, I dunno. Julia doesn't look like she knows it, which makes her sexier, whereas Capri looks like she does know, which kinda takes away from it a little bit. So I'd say they're really about even. Y'know?
[ooh, i checked out your journal -- you're a cartoonist? rock! i'm but a Rank Amateur tryin'ta maybe hopefully go pro... d'you have any of your stuff online? i'd love to check it out!]
Hehe... I'm kind'a a rank amateur, too. I draw a lot, but I can count my lifetime earnings from art in the (very)low three digits, and most of that has come from comissions for friends.
hee! that's about my lifetime earnings from art, too. =)though mine has come almost totally from art shows at cons [Dragoncon being the biggie]. the stuff i do for friends is usually free, on account of i feel funny taking money from my friends. =)
took a look at your paintings -- very nice!! i love the colour pallet you use, very subtle. i'm still trying to get the hang of colour...
Thank you. One trick that I picked up recently is to use little bits of complementary colors in the shadows, to make things look more vibrant.
Siminarly, I openly envy your inking style. It's very subtle. I've done countless pages of black and white comics, and my inking still looks rough and crude. What are you using? Dip pen? Technical pen? If you tell me you're using a brush, I'm going to jump off a bridge. =:)
Ooooh pretty! Do that again! See, I think the one thing I'm going to miss the most in not being able to come to DragonCon this year is playing with that hair. *sigh* Any chance of you visiting Dallas in the near future?
Ah, but see, that's why we're not gonna make it to DragonCon. :( That and I don't think we can trust my car all the way to Atlanta, as it's leaking coolant. Many tiny leaks = too much coolant lost, but too many to fix.
As soon as we get our feet back under us, financially, we're hoping to trade this bloody thing in for a truck. :)
But shy is *gorgeous*, hon. I think I fell in love with Chris on our first date, when his "silver tongue" proceeded to fail him thoroughly. I saw through all his bullshit, it flabbergasted him, and he went shy and sweet on me. It was absolutely *adorable*.
Uhm... I'm... I... I'm shy... *LAUGH* okay I can't even say it. I'm only shy when confronted witha beautiful man who I'm interested in - THEN I can't even look at him. Otherwise I'm completely not shy. But still we're all glad you DID put up an actual photo icon.
I heard that. "Hair is gross"? Only for those who are not right in the head. Huge tumbling masses of curls (or flowing waves of straight hair) are delectable. :)
I'm trying to think if we have any short-haired girls in this comic. Katrianna! Kat has a chin-length Louise Brooks bob. She'll eventually grow it out to almost-shoulder-length, but that's as long as it ever gets. Mouse posted the sketches of Shawn in shayara - he's a boy, but he'll have short hair.
Heh. I guess it's partially that I'm hideously ugly when my hair is short. And I don't have any female short-haired friends, really, except Edie (who has a bob similar to Kat's, but shorter), unless I'm forgetting someone. So it's more that I don't *see* anyone on a regular basis that has short hair, maybe...
but she has that "Ooh! did I do that?" seduction that most find attractive (and a good capture of it, mousie I can see how others find it sexy), but it makes me colder than a an eskimo's freezer.
I *so* hate the mock innocent "female" thing ( i.e. 7 year itch, Marylin Monroe). I don't like my women to pretend to be inferior or innocent or simple, it is such a turn off. Ugh. I don't find it sexy, I find it annoying.
(of course this is just me :) ) I like em wise and uninhibited, powerful and confident.

But my men on the other had, I do like dumb (as well as smart) -- strange?
Yeah, she definitely has the "did I do that?" thing, but her innocence is in a different vein - from age 11 to almost-18, she was raised in that tower alone with the boys, never experiencing anything *outside*. So she *is* a little innocent in terms of actual relationships.

Anyhow, I've not yet figured out what to do with my web page, but I've posted some things on LJ. Here are three nice photosho paintings I've done. Hope you like them.

I think I'm just tired of the typical "sexy huge flowy hair" image of feminine sexuality that gets shoved down my throat by mainstream society.
But then again, Maybe I am just a freak. Yeah. That's most likely it.
