We want to do a repeat of Kung Fu Night, but it has been suggested that we don't necessarily need to stick to kung fu movies - we could use other themes.

So I am looking for theme suggestions. Theme suggestions should be 2-3 movies per theme, maybe 4, but y'all tend to trickle in late, so unless we start at 6...

Ideas so far:

"Inspired by Shakespeare": 10 Things I Hate About You & Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

"Wacky Pseudo-bands": This is Spinal Tap & SpiceWorld

Any more? :)

Not to mention Robin and the Seven Hoods and the Seven Samurai, both of which I'd take before the Secaucus Seven. And Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (does that count as 14 by itself?) as a reserve.

Actually, when I originally did this one in college, I threw in Fellini's 8 1/2 just to confuse people. ;)

Oooh, there we go: 8 1/2, and 9 & 1/2 Weeks.

Ah, but to do it *right*, we'd need to wait for Minority Report to come out on DVD.

That movie rocked *so* much.

Nope - I really ought to....

We could add Blues Brothers (the original, not the blasphemous thing released a few years back under the guise of a sequel) and Meet the Ruttles to the pseudo-band list.

As for other themes:

Paranoid horror: The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (any version), The Faculty, The PuppetMasters

Yaphet Kotto Must Die: Alien, Live and Let Die, The Running Man (okay, so I don't think he died in the last one, but he almost did)

Bill Paxton is Fucked Up: Near Dark, Aliens, Trespass, just about anything else he's done.

Pass the Ammo: Rambo, Hard Boiled, Hot Shots Part Deux.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? and Mommie Dearest.

Don't have those, but we could get them...

...love the icon. :)

Thanks.

If you can find them, they're definetly worth the rental.

I've heard great things about Ring -- haven't heard anything about the sequels.

As far as sequels go, you'd be hard pressed to find better.
They stayed consistent and go all the required original actors.

An American Werewolf in London

OR

Little Shop
Day of the Triffods
Evil Dead (for the naughty vines)
