Hello to new reader [livejournal.com profile] navitas2003!

Medical
Lyrica-wise, I'm okay - final bump-up tomorrow.

Fibro-wise, I'm not okay. Overworked myself like whoa this weekend.

FYI to Atlantans
Yard sale at my place on Saturday, October 14. Books! Games! Stuffed animals! Clothes! All manner of crap we picked up over the years thinking we'd use and haven't! If we haven't used something in the 2 1/2 years we've been in this house, and it doesn't have big eBay potential, come pick it up for cheap.

Daily Science
To the list of wonders of the ancient world, perhaps another should be added: nanotechnology. It seems that a hair-dye formula dating to Greek and Roman days works by causing tiny nanocrystals to form deep inside strands of hair.

Daily BPAL
Cockaigne: “The weather is always mild, the wine flows freely, sex is readily available, and all people enjoy eternal youth.” The Land of Plenty, also called Luilekkerland – the Lazy, Luscious Land: milk and honey, sweet cakes and wine.

In bottle: Ooooh. Sweet. [livejournal.com profile] kissmythistle compared it to Mitzvah, and that comparison is clearer when in the bottle, though it may smell like Mitzvah on someone else's skin. On mine...

On me: Wet, this is Drink Me's lighter little sister - which delights me, because Drink Me is sometimes too heavy to wear. But this has the luscious foody sweetness that makes me smile. Dry... people disagree. Everyone smells something different, but everyone agrees that it smells wonderful. Honey cakey lightly-spicy sweet - baked goods. Cinnamon rolls. The woman at Two Six swore she smelled pumpkin. This has throw like whoa - I wave my arms when I talk, and according to KMT, whenever I do, this lusciousness just wafts out from me. Thank goodness this isn't an LE. It's a new 'song signature scent!

Caliban: The scent of the salty seas, bittersweet wine, palm and tropical ferns.

In bottle: The greenest green that ever greened!

On me: Yep. That's green. That's really, really green. Green like crushing juicy plant stems between your fingers. Did I mention that it's green?

...and as it dries down, the saltwater comes out, and now it's the dipping of the karpas at Pesach. Huh.

Who are you?

What do you want?

What are you willing to do to get it?

I don't like wearing clothing.

*pout*

*puts away her nakidity, as people are coming over*

There is such a thing as being too packratty.

For example: I know what Elayna had for lunch six years ago today. Circled on the school lunch menu. Kindergarten.

Turkey sandwich, if you care.

Oy.

...and now I can't get up. The laptop's been on the bed being an expensive boombox as I've been doing this, and I had to lie down to type this, and now the cat is standing on my butt.

I am catted.

It's amusing... Adam and I chose cats that are the opposite of our selves, yet that epitomize each other. Jack is crazy hyper and super-affectionate and will jump on your butt whenever given the opportunity. Max is quiet and snuggly and knows when I need him most and stays by me.

Hey, cat off my butt! Back to the piles of preschool drawings. Boxes full of "I love my mommy" in fingerpaint and sparkles; years of poster-paint handprints. I can't throw any of this away.

Okay, the lunch menus can go.

From the BPAL.org forum:

All orders containing Pumpkin Queen are temporarily held up because of component issues. As soon as this changes I'll post another announcement.

Yeah. Guess what the one scent I was ordering unsniffed in my Order of Doom was?

Pumpkin Queen.

*falls to knees* "KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"

*pant* *pant* *glares at curious pedestrians*

That's Black Moon Rising (the descriptions of Schwartzer Mond are driving me crazy!), Pumpkin Queen, Devil's Night, Samhain, The Black Tower, and an imp pack. My gift to myself for going through the hospital shit.

Anyway.

On another BPAL track...

Adam: "Mmm, you smell nice. What are you wearing?"

Me: "Cockaigne." Same as this morning. And yesterday.

Adam: "Huh. There's definitely a tobacco component to it."

Me: *sniffs wrist skeptically*

Adam: "Or something to do with old books."

Me: "Huh. Well, it is based on a land of plenty concept. Heaven. Honey cakes, sex..... and [livejournal.com profile] kissmythistle said it would make sense for everyone's paradise to smell different. So your paradise is a library."

I am unsurprised that Adam's idea of paradise is a library. I just find it fascinating how different people find different things in this scent.
