...barefoot and on the computer, typing one-handed.

That is the new laptop! And that is my parents' living room. And the plastic cup has coffee grounds in it, to clear out our poor noses. And that's [livejournal.com profile] we_happy_few's leg, and [livejournal.com profile] felisdemens's head.

There will be more pictures. [livejournal.com profile] felisdemens and [livejournal.com profile] enderfem have approval rights. (I sent you guys the link - let me know!)

...and how's the weight issue, or should I go to the sickhippo, which you never seem to use, or you cut me out of...
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 02:17 am (UTC)
Oh, I am about a year behind on updating sickhippo...

I am maintaining! Still no more weight loss! What you are seeing is me at probably 91 or 92. My low was 85. I continue to eat much cake.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:45 pm (UTC)
Still scary-thin? :(

I have really lost the ability to judge. I know that my hipbones don't protrude anymore. I can still feel them, but they aren't as clearly visible anymore.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:46 pm (UTC)
Let's just say, I was a bit concerned.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:52 pm (UTC)
*hugs* Thank you.

I got a lot of that my last Boston trip - the relief. [livejournal.com profile] mangosteen was relieved to feel a little padding when he picked me up and hugged me; in January, he'd felt nothing but bone. And [livejournal.com profile] zarhooie commented that, in January, my trachea had been defined. I've filled out a tiny bit there, too.

I think I look more like a human being now. Pictures do not exist of me at my skinniest...
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 02:45 pm (UTC)
You're definitely more padded-looking (and -feeling!) than you were the last couple times I've seen you. I'm optimistic! I plan on feeding you much pasta when you move up here! :D
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 02:35 am (UTC)
Wow, you really are tiny!

YAY for the new Mac, and YAY for all the imps I see!

Your parents live in FL, right? Where?
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:45 pm (UTC)
Broward County. You?
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:51 pm (UTC)
Me too! I'm in Tamarac!
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:54 pm (UTC)
Dude! *headshake* If only I'd known.... we could've met, and you wouldn't have had to ship those imps. *laugh*

You working today?
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:55 pm (UTC)
Nope! :)

I'm a teacher... no working over the summer!
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 02:38 am (UTC)
Hee... You weren't kidding when you said that one of the books on your parents' coffee table lets people know that they're Jewish. :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 03:13 am (UTC)
That is frickin' hysterical. Nice eagle eyes.

... also, oddly flattened in perspective. Is that part of the natural state? :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 03:29 am (UTC)
Actually, kinda, yes - I lean at nonhuman angles! I am pretzely.

Reaction #1: Pretty.

Recation #2: [horrified] The ergonomics! Aie!
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 12:13 am (UTC)
You and laptop, both on the floor.

You're leaning far forward, such that your elbows look about one foot in front of where they should be. The laptop screen looks about two feet lower than it should be.

Your position is stressing your neck, shoulders, upper arms, forearms, wrists, lower back and hips.

Just sayin'.
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 01:13 am (UTC)
Well, I don't *usually* sit like that; right now, the laptop is on the kitchen table, and I am on a chair. :P

But I get very muscle-achy and must s-t-r-e-t-c-h!
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 03:31 pm (UTC)
#2 was my first reaction, personally. :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 11:57 pm (UTC)
People get odd ideas about being able to use laptops anywhere. 8-) Using a laptop on anything other than a desk while sitting on anything other than a chair kinda invites biomechanical problems.

And let's not get started about people who sit with one of their legs folded under them.

(And you can talk, missy, with your laptop on a coffee table!)
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 01:31 pm (UTC)
*amused* I was reacting to the 'not even vaguely sitting up' part, more than the 'not in a chair at a desk' part. So yes, I _can_ talk!

Also, have you _noticed_ how rarely I use my laptop now? :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 06:57 am (UTC)
You weren't kidding when you said the place was "orderly" or whatever. those books look like they've been glued that way.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 12:06 pm (UTC)
They've never been touched, I think.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 08:34 am (UTC)
typing one handed...surrounded by imps :)

You are so very cute :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 12:11 pm (UTC)
Oh, you ain't seen nothin' yet. We took pictures of all the imps! I'm just waiting on [livejournal.com profile] felisdemens's approval to post the ones she's in. There were *so many*.

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 09:03 am (UTC)
Whoa.. Flexi-fun-sized 'shade ! Cool!!
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 10:09 am (UTC)
How to know you are addicted to the net: one of the first things you say after getting a date for SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) is 'well, I have an excuse to buy a laptop now'.

I did get some great shots of recovering in the hospital while surfing the net on my iMac though.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 12:12 pm (UTC)
Ha!

And I have a friend who LJed her SRS from the hospital. With pics. Fascinating!

My journal is at http://kara-h.livejournal.com/tag/trinidad although it was written up after-the-fact. My journal entries from the relevant dates were pretty brief! Anyways, I made sure to take plenty of pics ... including in a reclining position holding a grape over my mouth from when a nurse was complaining I was being lazy. Interesting thing for a hospital: I provided my own supply of dilantin and took my doses without them bringing it to me.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 12:36 pm (UTC)
Did the coffee grounds help?

Cool laptop! :)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:20 pm (UTC)
They did! It's an old trick.
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 03:04 pm (UTC)
I'll have to remember that.... It's worth a try, anyhow!
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 12:48 pm (UTC)
You generally look healthier. Your hair looks thicker, too.

These are things that i'm happy to see :-)
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 01:19 pm (UTC)
:) :)

I had to cut a bunch of my hair off - I'm not happy with the length! - because the thick new growth and thin existing growth was creating a bi-level kinda effect. And my hair looked like it was still thinner, because the *ends* were still sparse.

So now it's mostly all the same length. And is sproingier, too.
