The usual, but the exhaustion is still much worse than usual. Doing the AIDS Walk - not the best idea. Doing the AIDS Walk at that pace - a terrible idea.
docorion will pace me next year, make sure I don't overdo.
Because it's not a matter of whether I can do something. If I'm determined enough, I can do anything for a short while. It's a matter of how much I'll pay for it later.
But I raised almost $700!
EDIT: Wordfuckery goin' on. Oy. ALSO EDIT: Coordination fuckery. Not so much with the walking. *sigh*
*squirm*
asim is mean.
Books! Also? My daughter rocks.
Adam and I have finished The Penultimate Peril, and are now waiting for the rest of you to do so so we can discuss it. *pokes

Elayna started it late. Why? Because we saw MirrorMask on the shelf. She picked it up and started reading it as I continued to browse SF/Fantasy...
Yes. She's been waiting for Penultimate Peril all year, but she set it down for Gaiman.
Well, we had to buy it. (And Woken Furies by Richard Morgan and A Place So Foreign and Eight More by Cory Doctorow for me because, as she has been a good girl, I have been a good mama.) And she chose to read it in the car. And during her snack. Instead of the book she's been clamoring all year for.
When I asked her why, she said, "Well, it's funny..." and she paused and considered. "And I like the way he uses language."
Oh.
*beam*
I could not in a million years have designed a better child than this. A more perfect child for me. True, she could be better about homework and keeping her room clean, but show me a kid who couldn't. My daughter appreciates the way authors use language.
It is so good to be me sometimes.
