Damn, you guys posted a lot last night.

So okay. My weekend of concerts:

Friday: Concrete Blonde (free On the Bricks concert!)
Saturday: Carbon Leaf
Sunday: Great Big Sea, Seven Nations, and Young Dubliners

Who's coming with? I know [livejournal.com profile] glenn5 expressed interest in Concrete Blonde - anyone else? [livejournal.com profile] ilexx, you should see if Justin wants to meet up with us! :) Oh, and I'll be playing the other bands' CDs at the gaming session tonight so you can all hear what they sound like; both Saturday's and Sunday's concerts are general admission, so you don't need to worry about buying a ticket *with* us if you want to go with us. :)

Remember, D&D tonight at 8! What do y'all want on your pizza? Sound off via comments...

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] deza, [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe wants to borrow your DM screen if that's okay.

Next Movie Night is Friday, July 19th, starting at 7 (unless anyone needs more/wants less time). Movie nights are themed - you can see theme ideas if you scroll back through my journal. This Movie Night theme will be chosen by special guest [livejournal.com profile] stronae. This invitation is open to all you Atlanta LJers on my friends list. Yes, even if I've never met you. Come on down. :)

[livejournal.com profile] yendi and I were talking this morning about LJers who feel the need to use "sexy" in their userid, and how one should not push The Sexy. Because that's not sexy. Don't push The Sexy, just *be* The Sexy. Zen Sexy. Ideas to live by.

Also discussed how I get the Carbou Coffee trivia right more often than he does, but he gets the puzzability trivia right more often than I do. [livejournal.com profile] yendi excels at things like "find synonyms for these four words, drop two letters from each, and rearrange the remaining letters to find the name of a U.S. President". I excel at the fully random stuff, like the "which Shakespeare character has the most dialogue?" and "What's so-and-so's real name?" stuff, the stuff I heard when I was 7 or something and stored in my hindbrain until necessary. He's the logic hound; I run on instinct and a packrat memory. :)

Okay. More idjit student worker hijinks.

Phone rings. He answers it. He walks around the corner to me and says, "Someone's asking for Mary Jane, but she's on the phone. What should I tell them?"

I struggled to restrain a look of complete disbelief. "Um. Tell them she's on the phone. And take a message."

"Oh, okay."

I can't handle this, dude. Seriously. Plus, I just had to deal with the campus bookstore screwing up over half of our fall book orders (omitting class listings and assigning the books for those classes as second texts for other, completely random classes. Getting everyone's names wrong. Getting order numbers wrong.). So. Yes. Major frustration with stupidity here.

Other than that, though, I'm doing great. Really. Having a happy and at-peace day. :)

New people on my list! [livejournal.com profile] astrophysicat, [livejournal.com profile] thunder_muffin, and [livejournal.com profile] root_down, who was listening to the same CD as I was last night.... :)

Whenever I say that - "welcome to my world" - the song that FAO Schwarz plays incessantly in their stores pops into my head. "Welcome to our world, welcome to our world, welcome to our world of toys..."

Erin just asked me if you spell "flaky" with an "e" or not. She was relaying the question from Mary Jane, as neither of them knew. I want to not work with stupid people, please.

Okay! I am booked on Thursday - matinee of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", and dinner, with Thomas. :) Then [livejournal.com profile] yendi goes to Halloween, and I get some bonus writing time! :)

I am currently taking applications to keep me occupied and out of the house for Adam's writing time for next week - Monday or Wednesday.

I had a very scary moment, coming back from lunch.

I plugged in my heater, and it didn't turn on.

After much fiddling, the heater is now blessedly chugging away. Thank goodness. Because this office is *freezing*.

What are you reading?

My answer: "Through Wolf's Eyes" by Jane Lindskold at lunch, the first Liaden omnibus at home.

What are you wearing?

My answer: Black fake-Docs, white socks, Ace ankle brace, jeans, blue-striped panties, drapey slinky raisin-colored mock-turtleneck short-sleeved shirt with little black velvet curlicues, lilac bra, hair in stealth pigtails.

And lastly, question stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kellinator: Whose journal should I be reading that I'm not reading yet? :)

Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] nailedshut!

So. I know how and why [livejournal.com profile] astrophysicat found me, but how did the rest of you? And why did you add me? I'm insatiably curious. :)
